GPS Mask Padding

This is ‘it’…the padding that will change how masks are finished off.  Say good-bye to ineffective materials like Rubatex, EVA, EPP and anything else that is NOT gel.  Our gel has an effective operational range of -40 degrees to 200 degrees.  It is 100% hypoallergenic.  The gel immediately rebounds to provide the same level of excellent attenuation for multiple sequential impacts.  This gel appears to be foam, but do not mistake it as such.  This gel looked like the gel we all know prior to being air frothed, which reduces the weight.  We offer two thicknesses in the kit.  The blue is ¼” thick and the gray is 1/8” thick and self adhesive so it can be married to the blue (provided you’ve cleaned it well) wherever you may need the gel to be thicker.  The attenuation properties of the gel mean you can use a thinner padding, which increases overall visibility, while increasing your protection.

Easy to install, provided you follow a few basic tenets; clean the surface of the mask thoroughly using an astringent such as lacquer thinner, remove the scrim (cloth) backing from the pieces of gel to receive the adhesive (contact cement).  The scrim backing is left on to keep the surface of the gel pieces clean, so do not remove it until you are ready to affix your dots.  Allow the adhesive to set up for a minimum of twenty-four hours prior to use.  A bonus in using the gel is that it will outlive your mask!
